EXANTE is a global investment company that offers a wide range of financial instruments for individual, corporate, and professional traders. Founded in Malta, it has a global footprint, with offices in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, and Hong Kong. It is regulated by the MFSA, the FCA, the CySEC, and the SFC in each of these locations, and it is compliant with regional financial frameworks and local laws.
One of the features that make the broker stand out is its vast product offering of over 600,000 financial instruments across various asset classes and in global markets – which is something we will discuss today in this review. We will also talk about the broker’s proprietary trading platform, covering the key points in its functionality and features. Finally, we will give our EXANTE opinions and rating of the broker.
What can you trade at EXANTE?
EXANTE stands out for being one of the only brokers with such a wide range of products and financial instruments – over 600,000 across forex, stocks and ETFs, bonds, metals, options, and futures. The broker offers direct access to more than 50 global markets, including the largest names around, such as the LSE, the NYSE, the TSE, and the HKEX.
Forex
EXANTE offers over 50 currency pairs in their product catalogue, including major, minor, and exotic pairs. Spreads begin from 0.3, and commissions and other fees depend on several factors: the currency pair that is being traded, the size of the trade, and the account properties. Forex trades are executed by EXANTE with low latency and a speed of 10ms. Traders can also receive information of live prices on the platform, or they can set alerts.
Stocks and ETFs
The broker has over 24,000 individual stocks and a wide range of Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) available from global markets, and traders with EXANTE can gain direct access to them. Markets range from the US and European to the Australasian markets, and rates and commissions again vary depending on the instrument traded. Short sellers can also purchase stocks or easy-to-borrow securities to take short positions for a short fee given there is availability. Stocks and ETFs on major exchanges can be traded from a minimum of 0.02 USD.
Bonds
Bond investors will find their preferred bonds with the bond screener tool with EXANTE’s trading platform. The broker offers state and private bonds, exchange-traded and OTC bonds, and international (US, EU, and Exotic) bonds. Bond rates start at 9bps.
Metals
Traders can invest in precious and industrial metals including Gold, Silver, Copper, Platinum, and more with EXANTE as well. Metals are available for trading on the spot or with futures or options contracts, and traders can access live prices with fast execution and minimal slippage. Metals can be traded from 3 USD, and commissions depend on the metal being traded and the trading strategy.
Options
Derivative traders will be delighted to find that EXANTE offers a whopping total of 500,000 options for their traders. Traders can filter out their preferred option and find the instrument appropriate for them with the use of a neat option board provided by the broker’s trading platform. Options can be traded from 1.5 USD, with varying commission fees depending on the option being traded.
Futures
Finally, EXANTE offers futures from over 30 global futures markets across the US, UK, continental European, and APAC regions. Commissions vary depending on the future contract and the quantity of futures traded, as there are over 500 futures varieties, including commodities and bonds.
The EXANTE trading platform – is it any good?
The EXANTE platform is a proprietary solution developed by the broker. It is compatible with iOS and Android on mobile, and on desktop it is compatible with Linux, Microsoft, and macOS terminals. There is also a web version of the platform, which can be accessed through the browser. Traders can use the platform for free with on Demo mode (but market data will be delayed by 30 minutes). They can also access the platform and global markets with their live account after they have verified their identity and deposited sufficient funds.
Features and functionality
The EXANTE trading platform is highly innovative and customisable. From our findings, we discovered that it has clearly labelled modules on the left-hand side of the terminal: Instruments, Charts, Quote Monitor, Time & Sales, Market Depth, Order, Margin, and Current Orders. These give detail and insight for traders into the trades they have made, their open positions, their profit/loss statistics, market depths of instruments they are interested in, and their margin utilisation as a percentage and as an absolute value.
The EXANTE platform is comprehensive upon our first interactions with it – and it has an intuitive and user-friendly Order panel, showing Bid and Ask prices, order type, quantity, price, and margin utilisation. Traders can set take profit and stop loss orders, and they can view details of the trade before they place it. When a trade has been opened, traders can keep track of its performance in the Open Positions tab at the bottom half of the terminal.
Finally, traders that are interested in pursuing more advanced strategies can do so easily with EXANTE’s HTTP API, which enables them to build apps to be integrated into their platform. This includes building apps that send real-time alerts of price changes and movements, as well as reminders and performance overviews of instruments. There is also the possibility of participating in algorithmic trading via FIX 4.4 API, with secure data transfer, quote retrieval, and full-scale trading automation for hands-off trade execution.
Our opinions and rating of EXANTE
In conclusion, having looked at the product offering and platform functionalities of EXANTE, we can conclude that this broker is legit and a good provider for those interested in curating a balanced portfolio. The relatively low commissions and tight spreads give traders an edge when participating in global markets, and the broker is well-regulated, allowing traders to feel more secure with their deposited funds. Overall, we think highly of EXANTE and can confidently recommend the broker.
